The England game has been final for a good fifteen minutes and I still haven't found an answer. So I got out the graph paper myself.
USA:
Win and in
Loss and out
Okay but what about a tie:
Draw
If England wins, USA is out
If Slovenia wins, USA is in
If Eng-Slv draw, goes to goal differential, where US has a 3-1 advantage on England.
So we're rooting for Slovenia. If they can win or get a draw of 0-0, or 1-1, all we need to do is draw vs. Algeria. Of course it's a lot easier to just focus on WIN and IN.
