Chiefs on MNF

The last time the Chiefs played on Monday Night?

2005.

And this time, we're at home.
We're hosting last year's division champs (Chargers).
This is debuting the New Arrowhead (significant remodeling efforts have been completed and will be on display.)
This is the first Monday Night opener in Chiefs history.
This will be the first MNF game for the Pioli-Haley-Cassel era.
And it could be Jamaal Charles break out game.

I'm excited.

The last time the Chiefs opened in primetime was 2004. It was a Sunday night game against the Broncos. You might remember it as the game Plummer threw a left handed interception in his own red zone.

Aside from a lot of potentially winnable games, here are the highlights of the Chiefs schedule:

Nov. 14 at Broncos, Dec. 5 hosting Broncos. Very likely that I will be living in the Denver-area by that time. Should be able to watch those on the big screen. Based on proximity, I'm guessing the Broncos will overtake the Raiders as the biggest rivalry games.

Any December or later home games are always good ones. This year in week 16 the Chiefs host the Titans in a Charles-Cop Speed run-off, and for good measure, in week 17 the Chiefs can finish strong by hosting the Raiders.

Honestly, if coordinators can make an impact like they're supposed to, a 9-7 finish seems possible.
