I've been posting Mahomes stats constantly over the last 6 years, but I can never remember where the good ones are. So starting now, I'm making this post have all the big/good stats, and I'll just refer back to this post.

Let's start with the big ones. 

Super Bowl Rings - AFC West Standings

Chiefs: 4

Broncos: 3

Raiders: 3

Chargers: 0

Funny how winning 3 rings really quickly does wonders for your divisional standings.

Super Bowl Rings - Quarterbacks with 3+

Brady: 7

Montana: 4

Bradshaw: 4

Mahomes: 3

Okay, so trailing Brady by four, still not close. But wait, I have a trick up my sleeve...

Super Bowl Rings - Teams with 4+

Patriots: 6

Steelers: 6

Cowboys: 5

49ers: 5

Chiefs: 4

Giants: 4

Packers: 4

I did a deep dive into this here. Chiefs only trail Patriots/Steelers by two. So in a hypothetical world where Mahomes ends with 6 rings, trailing Brady by one... the Chiefs have 7 and pass the Patriots, assuming that none of these teams goes on a run.

Regular Season MVPs + Super Bowl MVPs 

Brady: 3 + 5 = 8

Peyton: 5 + 1 = 6

Mahomes: 2 + 3 = 5

Montana: 2 + 3 = 5

Rodgers: 4 + 1 = 5

Mahomes in 6 seasons has caught up to Montana in total MVPs for his 16-season career.

Most NFL playoff wins for Starting Quarterbacks

Brady: 35

Mahomes: 17

Montana: 16

Bradshaw/Peyton/Elway: 14

NFL playoff wins for Head Coaches

Belichick: 31

Reid: 28

Landry: 20

Shula: 19

When I first paid attention to this stat, it was February 2020 and Reid had 15. I said it was entirely realistic that he could pass Landry. Well, he's added 13 playoff wins in 5 years. What used to be an unbreakable record, now looks within reach. 

All-Time Winning Record

This one is a slow-moving one. If you took Mahomes regular season record of 74-22, and doubled it as an approximation of the next six years, it still only takes the Chiefs percentage up to .562. That clip is unrealistic to maintain anyways, so best to lower expectation on this one. It would be twice as easy for Lamar to affect the Ravens percentage because they've played half as many games. 

Just a year ago, Chiefs were in 8th place all-time, and I think they were around 11th or so before Mahomes.

Things for Mahomes/Chiefs to Achieve

I promise this is not sour grapes or arrogance. I always said I'd be happy with one title and I am. This is just things that would be neat to see. Some bucket list stuff for Mahomes and the Chiefs to aim high for. 

• Franchise Record for Wins in a Regular Season is currently 13
• Best Franchise Regular Season winning percentage is .846 (11-2-1)

    Going 14-2 in a 16 game schedule would secure both of those. The 2019 Chiefs actually broke the record for combined regular seasons + playoff wins. The previous record was 14 from winning Super Bowl IV, because all three times they went 13-3 since then, and this is true they lost their first playoff game. If they don't get to 14-2 this year, they would have to get to 15-2 in a 17 game schedule to surpass 11-2-1.

Chiefs: 2

Chargers: 0

So one more ring to tie the Broncos and Raiders. Two more to surpass them. 

Once you get past them, here are all the teams with 4 or more Super Bowl Wins:

Patriots & Steelers: 6

Cowboys & 49ers: 5

Packers & Giants: 4

That's the whole list. So win two more and you join the top 7 teams in the league. Win three more and you're in the top 5. Win four more and you're in the top tier. 

(What's wild is that for Mahomes to match Brady is actually further out of reach than taking Chiefs to match the Patriots/Steelers.)

In addition to rings, some people pay attention to NFL MVP awards. Here's the list of players to win that 3 or more times:

Jim Brown: 3

Johnny Unitas: 3

Brett Favre: 3

Peyton Manning: 5

Tom Brady: 3

At this point in the year, it's possible that Aaron Rodgers joins that list by winning his 3rd this year. Or Mahomes could win his 2nd, going 2 out of 3. 

I'm also excited to see Andy Reid reach the Mount Rushmore of wins, and climb to #2 in playoff wins.
