30 Pounds Down, 15 To Go
Week 0 = 205 pounds

Week 17 = 176

I'm happy to get to 30 down, but one thing is clear. I'm not as motivated when I'm in the 170s to get to the 160s, as I was in the 190s to get to the 180s.
I'm motivated to not be fat, but not as interested in getting the body I actually want.

Week 14 = 180
Week 15 = 179.5
Week 16 = 177.5
Week 17 = 176
Week 18 = 177
This is the first week where I've technically gained weight. I say technically because I was 176 through the weekend and then Monday night we went to Hacienda, one of my favorite restaurants because Bridget was in town.
I got the steak fajitas that come with roasted peppers and onions, fresh jalapeƱos, cheddar and monterey jack, sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo, and rice. PLUS, on the side I got a cup of spicy queso blanco AND spicy pork green chili. Let's just say that I ate a lot.
Tuesday morning the scale jumped from 176 to 178.5. It was down to 177 this morning, and I suspect that I'll be at 176 again shortly. So it's a bummer that the scale went up this week, but it's nothing to worry about.
Oooh, fajitas!

I cut out some of the data just because it was annoying to have to scroll that far. Feeling good. Hopeful I can get to 175 next week to reach the 30 Pounds Lost mark.

After basically doing the same thing for weeks 15 and 16, I got some good progress this time. I started May 1st, so I'm approaching four completed months of losing weight.
And because I love math...if I keep the pace of the last two weeks combined, I would reach 160 on week 30, the week after my birthday. Stay tuned.

After having two wasted weeks (12 and 13, thanks to anniversary + mark fever), I was able to get back on track and reach my wedding weight.
My current average weight loss rate is 1.79 pounds a week.
(After 8 weeks my rate was 2.38 pounds a week. After 11 weeks it was 2.05 lbs/week.)
So those wasted weeks definitely slowed me down.
Here are the future benchmarks:
Week 27 is the San Francisco trip.
Week 29 is my 30th birthday.
Using my current rate of 1.79 a week, I will reach my goal weight of 160...12 weeks from now. That's week 26, the week before the trip.
- - -
Let's go just a bit deeper. I want to look at my recent rate, before the anniversary. From weeks 6 to 11, my average rate was 1.5 pounds a week.
Using that rate I would get to 160.5 on Week 27.
So as long as I can keep the rate I was at, I'll hit my goal by the trip. Even if it slows down a bit, I should be close.

Another deceptive week. I was down to 182 before Mark arrived, up to 184.5 while he was here, down to 183 today. So the last two weeks have been a bust because of Anniversary and Mark's visit, but now I should be able to resume. Looking forward to 170's.

So this is the first week where I gained weight. It's because we got some babysitting help and went out 3 nights in a row for our anniversary. The food wasn't even that great, it was just nice to get out of the house.
Sunday morning I was 181.
Monday morning I was 182.5.
Tuesday morning I was 185.5.
Wednesday morning I was 183.
That's what happens when you go crazy and then go crazy the other way. I think it's possible that by this weekend I could be 181 again. But then I'm afraid I might catch a fever...

22.5 pounds lost, 22.5 to go until I'm at 160.
It's a little annoying/frustrating that I've only lost 1.5 pounds in two weeks, but at least I'm still going. It may be that's as fast as I can lose from here on out because I just have less to lose. Or maybe this is a plateau and I'll be able to get some more 2-pound weeks.
Still some excitement. I dug out all the jeans that I was wearing since I've moved to Colorado. (I don't have anything skinnier) So I've expanded my wardrobe by 200%.
Also with 22.5 pounds to go, there are a bunch of good milestones coming up.
180 is my wedding weight and I think my standard college weight.
At 175 I look better.
Crossing 170 will be really exciting.
At 168, my BMI officially becomes "normal" instead of "overweight" (Fun fact: at 205, my BMI was just barely obese!)
From there it's just gravy as I'll be looking great in the 160s and it's just a matter of getting in better shape at that point. So, a lot to look forward to.
So the first half took 11 weeks.
If the second half took 11 weeks, I would reach 160 on October 2.
We all know it's not going to come off as easily in the second half.
If I can do the second half in 18 weeks, I can be at 160 by my 30th birthday.
And even if I'm not 160 exactly by then, I should at least be around 165, which is good enough to take some pictures and feel good.

Now that's what I'm talking about! After being stuck on a plateau for a week, I was able to shake it off and tie for my 2nd best week ever. (And you can't really count the first week where it's always going to be the fastest and plenty of water weight.)
I did it by having a high-calorie day last Wednesday and then being a bit lower than normal on Thursday and Saturday. Plus, I starting doing these to build muscle and it definitely was a key factor. I went from 188 to 186 in two days thanks to those exercises.
Feelin' good. Almost at 20 pounds lost. Almost at the halfway point of 22.5 pounds.

Week 3 = 197
Week 4 = 196
Week 5 = 192.5

This was a frustrating week. I didn't really do anything different and yet the weight stopped coming off. Today I'm "pulling a Memorial Day" and having a high-calorie day on purpose to try and get my body to burn calories at a higher level. It seems counter-intuitive but it has worked for a lot of people, including myself.
Also, it would probably help if I put on some muscle. So there's that.

Week 4 = 196
Week 5 = 192.5
Week 6 = 190
In the last two weeks, I've lost 6 pounds. In the three weeks prior, I only lost 4.5. Of course, that Memorial Day cookout threw off the numbers a bit. And I can't expecto keep up 3 pounds a week.
I was 190 on Monday morning, and was good all day Monday and Tuesday. So I was a little surprised to still be on 190 this morning. But hopefully that just means I'm due to drop the next pound or two soon.
Today I am wearing a short that I've never worn before. (Bought it last fall or so and it was too tight when I brought it home.)
15 down, 30 to go. At this rate, I could hit 160 by September/October. Which gives me enough buffer room to comfortably get there by my 30th birthday.

As expected, last week's weigh-in was artificially high due to Memorial Day. By Thursday I was 195. And then I just stayed on track and have lost 12.5 total. I'm wearing jeans that I haven't work in 6+ months and buttoned a shirt that has probably been just as long.

Week 3 = 197
Week 4 = 196
This number is a bit deceptive. Last week I took a bunch of stroller walks in the evening, spent all day Saturday working in the yard, and stayed on track with food . The result was that Sunday the scale showed 194.5.
Monday (Memorial Day) was the first day in May that I went crazy, eating whatever I wanted. I probably had double the calories that I was used to eating (about 3500-4000 instead of 1800). Tuesday the scale showed 197.
Now we're told that there are 3500 calories in a pound. So if I ate an excess of 1800 calories on Monday, you would expect me to gain half a pound. So I can assume that the 2.5 pound gain isn't really true fat. It's probably mostly water. Today I was down to 196, but I'm probably really at 195 and am optimistic that by next week I could be down to 193.5 or so.
All in all it was a pretty healthy week, just that one day that threw off the numbers.
Week 1 = 200.5
Week 2 = 199
Week 3 = 197
Week 4 = 196

In the groove
Week 0 = 205 pounds
Week 1 = 200.5
Week 2 = 199
Week 3 = 197
I was all excited on Monday when I saw 196.5 and thought this week was going to be more like week 1 than week 2. And then Tuesday it was 197.5. Today I got 197. I'll take it.
