I can't think of a time Dave ever ordered a salad.

Fruits and vegetables. Although he can stand the occasional apple or Clementine.

Oh come on, this is hoagie central we're talking about! It's hard to say just one sandwich. But I'll give you the core elements of a good sandwich:
--mayo and or mustard if it's a typical sandwich. if it's barbecue, it needs a good sauce that is somehow magically hot and sweet at the same time.
--really good bread. he likes sourdough.
--a hearty meat. nothing light like deli chicken or beef. it would probably be roast beef or barbecue beef or burnt ends (kansas city barbecue specialty)

Poppers! Just kidding. He would probably make this long argument about how after a while, eating the same thing everyday would kill all of its flavor and appeal. Then when I hassle him about it, he would cave and say barbecue.
