As I just examined the primetime NFL schedule, I discounted the Sunday night games after week 11, because I just assumed that with flex scheduling, those games aren't likely to take place. But let's review what happened last year:
Week 11
Scheduled: (5-4) Cowboys at (6-3) Redskins: 14-10
Flexed: as scheduled
Week 12
Scheduled: (6-4) Colts at (4-6) Chargers: 23-20
Flexed: as scheduled
Week 13
Scheduled: (6-5) Bears at (6-5) Vikings: 14-34
Flexed: as scheduled
Week 14
Scheduled: (7-5) Patriots at (2-10) Seahawks: 24-21
Flexed: (7-5) Redskins at (8-4) Ravens: 10-24
Week 15
Scheduled: (11-2) Giants at (8-5) Cowboys: 8-20
Flexed: as scheduled
Week 16
Scheduled: (6-8) Chargers at (9-5) Bucs: 41-24
Flexed: (11-3) Panthers at (11-3) Giants: 34-28 OT
Week 17
Scheduled: tbd
Flexed: (8-7) Broncos at (7-8) Chargers: 21-52
There were 6 scheduled SNF games, and only 2 of them used flex scheduling. The last game of the year was left open on purpose to put in a playoff-relevant game. I was surprised that 4 out of 6 SNF games were played as scheduled. But I guess it worked out for them.
