And the first pick is off the board. And it's a huge mistake. Stafford will not pan out for the Lions. That isn't to say that he couldn't succeed in the right system (like the Patriots) but there's no way that he gets a second contract with the Lions. Even wankers across the Atlantic know that the Lions are used to wilting under draft-day pressure. Instead of buying a Stafford jersey, Lions should just buy this one: (it will be relevant a lot longer).
what happened to all of that "we've got a backup deal with curry in place" BS? shouldn't that have been leverage? we gave a guy who has never taken an NFL snap $41 million guaranteed. i hope we don't force him into action too soon.
