This will become more clear by Tuesday morning, but here's how I see things right now.
Mark will win and clinches a spot with 8 wins. Doyle is in based on two-game lead and head-to head records.
Kirat and I will win. That puts Kirat at 7, Niraj at 7, and me at 6. Edit: Boss will also be at 6.
So...
Kirat 7
Niraj 7
Dave 6
Boss 6
Kirat and Niraj play each other in week 13, putting that winner at 8 and in. But both Kirat and Niraj own the H2H tiebreaker over Boss, eliminating him anyways.
If two teams split their head-to-head, does it go by overall points next? If so, it would seem my only path would be to beat Mark, hope that Niraj beats Kirat, and that I can pass Kirat for overall points. It's a lot to ask.
At this point it seems that Mark, Mac, and Niraj are in. And it's me vs Kirat for the last slot. Did I miss something?
I've studied this intensely. Mark and Doyle are in. Winner of Kirat/Niraj is in.
ReplyDeleteIF Dave beats Mark, he will be tied with the loser of Kirat/Niraj and possibly Boss (assuming he can beat the worst team), losing the tiebreaker against all of them.
The first tie-breaker is head-to-head. Dave split against Kirat and Niraj, and lost to Boss.
Boss lost to both Kirat and Niraj, but has outscored Kirat and Dave overall.
Dave has also cumulatively lost his head-to-head with Kirat and Niraj. For Dave to overtake both of them in overall points, he'd need to outscore each of them by about 100 points.
Sorry Dave, but I think your miraculous comeback was started a little too late.
The playoffs appear to be Mark, Mac, Niraj, and Kirat. Seeding is up in the air.
But I feel bad for Savan. His team has put up the third most points overall, yet is seeded 9. His losses include 5 points to open the season, a loss by 7.5 after scoring 150 himself, by 8 points (although he only scored 83 himself, so you have to blame Savan), and back-to-back losses by 2 points to division rivals, scoring 142 and 129. that hurts.
Also, Kirat went 2-5 against his division, and 5-0 against Naperville.
